A good movie quiz needs decent questions more than anything else, and writing thirty of them the afternoon before a film night is nobody's idea of fun. This category is Uplup's trivia bank for movies and TV: five ready-made quizzes covering general film trivia, television, animation, documentaries, and horror. Each one runs ten questions and takes four to eight minutes to play. Open a template, swap in your own questions where you want them, and share a link.
There are five quiz templates in this category, and every one of them runs ten questions. The Movie Trivia Quiz is the broadest, pulling from film history at large, and takes 5 to 8 minutes to finish. The TV Shows Quiz and the Animation & Cartoons Quiz each play in 4 to 6 minutes. The Documentary Quiz and the Horror Movies Quiz both land around the 6 minute mark. Stack all five and you have fifty questions of screen trivia without writing a single one yourself.
The Movie Trivia, TV Shows, and Animation & Cartoons templates come set up with points scoring, so every submission gets a score the moment it lands. Points, thresholds, and result screens are all adjustable, which matters once you start tuning difficulty: give the gimme questions one point and the deep cuts three.
The mix here is deliberate. A horror round is the obvious pick for an October watch party, but it also works as a warmup before a scary movie marathon: anyone who scores under five out of ten probably should not get a vote on the film. The Animation & Cartoons Quiz skews nostalgic and plays well with mixed ages, which makes it the safe choice for family movie nights where the audience spans four decades of Saturday mornings.
The Documentary Quiz is the sleeper. Documentary fans are underserved by trivia in general, and a dedicated round tells your film club you actually watched the same things they did. If you are hosting a general film night and only want one round, start with the Movie Trivia Quiz and pad it with two or three questions about whatever you are screening that evening.
Screen trivia goes stale faster than most categories. A question about the highest grossing film of all time has changed answers several times, and a question about the latest season of a running show is wrong within a year. Every question, answer option, point value, and result screen in these templates is editable, so treat them as a base rather than a finished product: keep the structure and refresh the handful of questions that have a shelf life.
Edits are also how you make a round feel local. Swap two general questions for two about your town's old cinema, or rewrite the TV round around the one show your group has collectively rewatched five times. The scoring setup and result thresholds carry over; you only touch the content.
Delivery is a link. Share it directly, post it to social, print a QR code and tape it to the snack table, or embed the quiz on your site with a snippet or the WordPress shortcode. Players open it on their phones, no account required, and answer one question per screen in conversational mode with a progress bar so nobody loses their place. Uplup does not run a live buzzer format; everyone plays at their own pace, and you read out the standings when the pizza arrives.
Scoring is automatic and results collect in one place. Per-question analytics show which questions everyone aced and which one stumped the room, useful when you are refining the round for next month. Export responses to CSV if you want a season-long leaderboard, or connect webhooks and Zapier if the quiz feeds something bigger. The free plan covers all of this at up to 50 responses a month, which handles most living rooms.
