Scoring Modes
Uplup Quiz Builder offers flexible scoring options to match your needs:
Points-Based
Each question is worth a set number of points. Quiz takers see their total points earned. You can assign different point values to different questions.
Percentage
Scores are displayed as a percentage of total possible points. Useful for standardized assessments where different quizzes may have different numbers of questions.
Pass/Fail
Set a passing threshold (e.g., 70%). Quiz takers are told whether they passed or failed. Great for certifications and compliance training.
Personality/Outcome
No right or wrong answers. Each answer contributes to different outcomes, and quiz takers are shown which outcome their answers match. Perfect for personality tests and recommendation quizzes.
Partial Credit
For questions with multiple correct answers, award partial points for getting some answers right. For example, if a question has 4 correct answers and the quiz taker selects 2, they receive 50% of the points.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many questions can I add to a quiz?
There’s no hard limit on the number of questions. However, for best completion rates, we recommend keeping quizzes under 20 questions. Longer assessments should use multi-page breaks with progress indicators.
Can I randomize questions?
Yes! You can randomize both question order and answer option order. This helps prevent cheating when the same quiz is taken by multiple people. See Quiz Settings for configuration details.
Can quiz takers see the correct answers?
You control what quiz takers see on the results page. You can show correct answers immediately after each question, only after quiz completion, or hide them entirely. You can also add explanations for why each answer is correct. See Results & Outcomes.
Can I limit quiz attempts?
Yes. You can allow unlimited retakes, limit to a specific number of attempts, or allow only one attempt. You can also control whether quiz takers see their previous scores when retaking. See Quiz Settings.
How do I prevent cheating?
Uplup offers several anti-cheating features: question randomization, answer shuffling, time limits, and password protection. See Quiz Security.
Can I see detailed analytics?
Absolutely. Uplup provides detailed quiz analytics including overall completion rates, score distribution, time spent, question-level performance (identify difficult questions), and individual attempt details. Export data to CSV for further analysis. See Analyzing Quiz Results.
