Quiz Settings - Complete Reference Guide

Configure your quiz from one place. The Quiz Settings modal has three tabs (Scoring, Options, Lead Capture) that control scoring mode, question behavior, results display, time limits, retakes, and lead capture.

Accessing Quiz Settings

Open the Quiz Settings modal from the quiz type pill in the top-right of the Create tab:

Open your quiz in the builder.
Click the pill labelled with your current scoring mode (for example Scored, Personality, Pass/Fail, or Percentage) next to the AI Assistant button.
The Quiz Settings modal opens with three tabs: Scoring, Options, and Lead Capture. Click Save Changes at the bottom to confirm your edits.

Scoring tab

Pick how the quiz calculates a result. Click Change on the current mode card to choose a different one.

Scoring modes

Scored – Total points earned across all questions.
Percentage – Score expressed as a percentage of the total available points.
Pass/Fail – Single pass or fail outcome based on a passing score (set as a percentage or raw points).
Personality – Match respondents to a personality type rather than calculating a numeric score.

Pass/Fail threshold

When Pass/Fail is selected, set the passing score and choose whether it is a percentage or a raw point total.

Personality types (Personality mode)

Personality mode replaces score settings with a list of personality types you define:

Click Add to create a type. Give it a name, pick a color, optionally upload an image, and write a description shown on the result page.
Toggle Show percentage breakdown to display a distribution of types on the result page.
Assign answers to types from each question’s settings (see the linked guide below).

Options tab

The Options tab combines four sections in a single scrollable view: Behavior, Results Display, Time Limits, and Retakes.

Behavior

Randomize question order – Shuffle the order of questions for each respondent.
Randomize answer options – Shuffle the answer choices on each question.
Show question numbers – Display numbering on each question.
Allow skipping questions – Let respondents skip and return later.
Allow going back – Enable the back button to revisit previous questions.
Show progress bar – Show how far along respondents are.
Show instant feedback – Reveal the correct answer right after each question (hidden in Personality mode).

Results Display

This section is hidden when the scoring mode is Personality. For Scored, Percentage, and Pass/Fail modes you can toggle:

Show final score – Display the user’s score (for example, “8 out of 10”).
Show percentage – Display the score as a percentage.
Show answer explanations – Reveal the per-question explanation you set in the question editor.
Show question breakdown – Show a question-by-question review of which answers were correct.
Show correct answers – Choose Always (instant feedback), After quiz submission, or Never.

Time Limits

Time limits are part of the Options tab and require a Pro plan. Toggle Enable time limit to expose:

Total quiz time – Total minutes allowed for the entire quiz (defaults to 30).
Show timer to users – Display the countdown to respondents.
Auto-submit when time runs out – Submit whatever answers exist when the timer hits zero.

Retakes

Allow quiz retakes – Toggle off to limit respondents to a single attempt.
Max attempts – Cap the number of attempts. Leave empty for unlimited.
Cooldown between attempts – Required wait time, in minutes, between attempts.
Keep best score – Use the highest score across attempts (Scored, Percentage, and Pass/Fail modes only).

Lead Capture tab

Toggle Collect lead information to require a name and email before respondents see their result. With it on, click Customize Lead Capture to jump to the Lead Capture page editor and configure the fields, copy, and design. With it off, respondents see results without leaving any contact info.

Design, Integrations & Security

Some settings live outside the Quiz Settings modal:

Design – Open from the left sidebar to customize colors, fonts, themes, and finish-page styling.
Security – Open from the left sidebar to set submission limits, spam protection, and location restrictions.
Integrations – Connect CRMs, analytics, payments, and scheduling tools from the Connect tab in the top navigation.
