Configure your quiz scoring mode, time limits, question behavior, retake policy, and results display. Access all quiz settings from the Quiz Settings modal.

Accessing Quiz Settings

The Quiz Settings modal contains all configuration options for your quiz, organized into five tabs.

Opening Quiz Settings

  1. Open your quiz in the builder
  2. Click the “Personality Quiz Settings” button in the top navigation (or “Quiz Settings” for scored quizzes)
  3. The Quiz Settings modal opens with five tabs: Scoring, Timing, Behavior, Retakes, and Results

Scoring Tab

Configure how your quiz is scored and define results.

Scoring Mode

Choose how your quiz calculates and displays results:

  • Personality Quiz – Match users to personality types based on their answers
  • Scored Quiz – Calculate points and show a numerical score

Click “Change” to switch between scoring modes.

Personality Types (Personality Quiz Mode)

When using Personality Quiz mode, define the possible results users can get:

  1. Click “+ Add Type” to create a new personality type
  2. Enter a name for the personality type (e.g., “Bang Chan”, “Lee Know”)
  3. Add a description explaining this personality type
  4. Optionally add an image for the result

Each personality type appears in a list with edit and delete options. When users complete the quiz, they see the personality type that best matches their answers.


Timing Tab

Add time pressure to your quiz with time limits.

Time Limits

Enable the “Enable time limit” checkbox to activate timing options:

  • Total Quiz Time – Set an overall time limit in minutes (e.g., 10 minutes)
  • Per Question – Set a time limit per question in seconds (e.g., 60 seconds)

Timer Display Options

  • Show timer to users – Display a countdown timer while users take the quiz
  • Auto-submit when time runs out – Automatically submit the quiz when time expires

Tip: Per-question time limits work well for trivia quizzes where quick thinking is part of the challenge.


Behavior Tab

Configure how questions behave during the quiz.

Quiz Behavior Options

  • Randomize question order – Shuffle questions so each user sees them in a different order
  • Randomize answer options – Shuffle the order of answer choices for each question
  • Show question numbers – Display “Q1”, “Q2”, etc. before each question
  • Allow skipping questions – Let users skip questions and come back later
  • Allow going back to previous questions – Let users navigate backward to change answers
  • Show progress bar – Display a progress indicator showing quiz completion

Recommended Settings by Quiz Type

Results Tab

Configure what quiz takers see after completing your quiz.

Score Display Options

  • Show final score – Display the user’s score on the results page
  • Show percentage – Display score as a percentage
  • Show pass/fail status – Display whether the user passed or failed (if pass threshold is set)

Answer Review Options

  • Show correct answers – Reveal which answers were correct after submission
  • Show answer explanations – Display explanations for each question (if configured)
  • Show detailed question breakdown – Show a list of all questions with the user’s answers and correct/incorrect status

Result Pages

Create custom result pages based on score ranges:

  1. Click “Add Result” to create a new result page
  2. Set the score range (e.g., 80% – 100%)
  3. Add a title and description for that score range
  4. Optionally add an image and configure a CTA button

Users will see the result page that matches their score range.


Retakes Tab

Control whether and how users can retake your quiz.

Retake Policy

Enable the “Allow quiz retakes” checkbox to let users take the quiz multiple times.

Retake Settings

  • Maximum attempts – Set a limit on retakes (e.g., 3). Leave empty for unlimited attempts.
  • Cooldown between attempts – Time in minutes users must wait before retaking (e.g., 60 minutes)

What Users See

  • Retake button – “Retake Quiz” button appears on results page when retakes are allowed
  • Attempt counter – Shows “Attempt 1 of 3” when max attempts is set
  • Limit reached – Message appears when no more retakes are available
  • Cooldown active – Message shows remaining wait time if cooldown hasn’t expired
