Thank You Page

In conversational mode, each field becomes its own page for a focused experience.

Ten fields and roughly 5 to 7 minutes per participant: that is the entire cost of getting clean, sortable hackathon signups. This template runs as a cover page, two content pages, and an ending page, and it was built for one specific job, described right in its own summary: organizing hackathon teams with skill profiles, technology stacks, and challenge preferences.

Skill levels, stacks, and team status in one pass

The required core is short. Participants give a name and email, pick an experience level on a four-step scale from Beginner (0-1 years) to Expert (5+ years), and check every technology they can actually ship with: JavaScript and TypeScript, Python, React, Vue or Angular, mobile, AI and machine learning, or cloud and DevOps. A required radio asks the question every organizer needs answered early, "Do you have a team?", with a plain "No, looking for a team" option for solo entrants.

Four optional fields round it out: a team name for groups that already exist, a t-shirt size, a GitHub or portfolio URL, and an open textarea asking what project idea the participant is considering. Everyone also picks a challenge track preference from five options: FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, Sustainability, or Open Innovation.

From a pile of signups to balanced teams

Responses land in Uplup's analytics with per-question breakdowns, so you can see at a glance how many Python people you have versus how many mobile developers, and how lopsided your track preferences are before you finalize challenges. Filtering the "looking for a team" group by complementary stacks beats random assignment, and it takes minutes instead of a frantic morning-of scramble.

When you need the data elsewhere, export everything to CSV or push each new signup to your own tools through webhooks and Zapier. T-shirt counts, catering numbers, and per-track capacity all come out of the same dataset, so one form feeds logistics as well as team formation.

Rework it for your own event

Every field and option list is editable. Swap Sustainability for a sponsor's track, add a dietary question, or cut the optional fields to speed things up. The template recommends conversational mode, one question at a time with a progress bar and back navigation, which suits a form that asks people to assess their own skills honestly. Add your event's colors and logo, then share the finished form by link or QR code, embed it on your event site, or drop it into WordPress with the Uplup plugin's shortcode. Hackathon Registration ships on the Pro plan, and once it's in your account everything above is yours to change.

Who Is This Template For?

This template works for a wide range of goals and industries.

University and student hackathons

Student organizers collect experience levels and GitHub or portfolio links up front, so first-time beginners get placed with experienced teammates instead of clustering together.

Company internal hackathons

Run signups for an innovation week, use the technology stack checkboxes to spread JavaScript, Python, and cloud skills across teams, and pull t-shirt sizes from the same responses.

Community and sponsor-backed events

The five challenge tracks map neatly to sponsor themes. Watch the per-question breakdown as registrations come in and rebalance track capacity before event day.

Key Features

Skill profiling built into signup

A four-level experience select and a six-option technology stack checkbox turn every registration into a sortable skill profile, not just a name on a list.

Solo-friendly team matching data

The required "Do you have a team?" question separates formed teams from free agents, and the optional project idea textarea gives you material for pairing them.

Share and export without friction

Publish by link or QR code, embed on your event site, or use the WordPress shortcode, then move responses out through CSV export, webhooks, or Zapier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can solo participants register without a team?
Yes. A required question asks "Do you have a team?" and includes a "No, looking for a team" answer, so solo entrants register normally. The team name field is optional, and the stack and experience answers give you what you need to match unattached participants into balanced groups afterward.
How long does the form take to fill out?
About 5 to 7 minutes. There are 10 fields spread across two content pages, and four of them, including t-shirt size and the project idea prompt, are optional, so participants in a hurry can move even faster.
Can I change the challenge tracks or technology options?
Yes. The five tracks (FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, Sustainability, Open Innovation) and the six stack checkboxes are plain option lists in the editor. Rename them, remove them, or add a sponsor track, and reorder or delete any field the same way.
