Form Builder Interface Overview
The Uplup Form Builder is divided into three main areas:
Form fields / area where you can drag and edit the fields.

Field settings sidebar to the right. This is where you can make advanced customizations on each form field.

1. Field Library (Left Sidebar)
The left sidebar contains all available field types organized into categories. Simply drag a field from the library onto your form canvas to add it.
- Basic Inputs – Text, email, phone, number, URL, etc.
- Choice Fields – Radio buttons, checkboxes, dropdowns, picture choice
- Date & Time – Date picker, time picker, date range, timezone
- Rating – Star rating, NPS, opinion scale, slider
- Advanced – File upload, signature, matrix grid, payment
- Layout – Headings, paragraphs, images, dividers, page breaks
2. Form Canvas (Center)
The center area shows a live preview of your form. This is where you arrange fields by dragging and dropping them into position. Click any field to select it and edit its settings.
3. Field Settings (Right Panel)
When you select a field, the right panel shows all configuration options for that field:
- General – Label, placeholder, help text, required toggle
- Options – Field-specific settings (e.g., choices for dropdowns)
- Validation – Min/max length, patterns, custom error messages
- Logic – Conditional visibility rules
Form Types: Classic vs Conversational
Uplup offers two distinct form modes to suit different use cases:
Classic Mode

Traditional form layout with all fields visible on the page. Best for:

Quick Start: Create a Form in 5 Minutes
Here’s a quick overview of the form creation process. For detailed instructions, see the Getting Started guide.
Step 1: Access the Form Builder
From your Uplup dashboard, click “Create New” and select “Form” from the options.


Step 2: Choose a Starting Point
You can start from scratch or choose from our template library. Templates include pre-built fields and styling that you can customize.


Step 3: Add and Configure Fields
Drag fields from the left sidebar onto your form canvas. Click any field to configure its settings – label, placeholder text, validation rules, and more.

Step 4: Customize the Design
Click the “Design” tab to access styling options. Choose a theme, customize colors, upload a background image, and match your brand.

Step 5: Configure Security & Integrations
Use the buttons in the top-right of the Edit tab to access additional settings: Design (styling, themes, finish page), Integrations (CRMs, analytics, payments), and Security (submission limits, spam protection).

Step 6: Publish and Share
Click “Publish” to make your form live. You’ll get a direct link to share, plus options to embed on your website or display as a popup.
