Build a How Well Do You Know the Bride Game for the Shower

Every bridal shower has one person quietly running the show, and the games land on her desk too. This template was built for that person. The maid of honor, or whoever is hosting, fills in the bride's real answers ahead of time, then guests race a live leaderboard to prove who actually knows her best. It's an easy, points-based quiz that takes each guest around 5 to 8 minutes, which is exactly the length a shower game should be.

You get 12 questions, each worth 10 points for a 120-point total, with a pass mark set at 60 so half credit officially counts as knowing the bride. What you don't get is generic filler. Every question is a scaffold waiting for real details, and the game falls flat if you skip that step, so here's how it works.

The answers come from you, not a question bank

Each of the 12 questions arrives with placeholder answers and a note written directly to the maid of honor. The meet-cute question tells you to swap in the real story plus "three near-misses." The bar question asks for "her exact go-to drink, garnish and all." The comfort-show question wants her actual rewatch, exact title included, next to shows she has loudly refused to watch. You aren't writing a quiz from scratch; you're doing a fill-in-the-blanks pass over one that already has its structure, pacing, and jokes in place.

The explanations under each question coach you on what makes an answer land. Decoys should sound just plausible enough to tempt the casual acquaintances. Wrong versions of the proposal story should each change exactly one small detail. That guidance is baked in, so even if you've never made a quiz before, yours will play like it was written by someone who has.

Twelve questions that sort the inner circle from the plus-ones

The set walks through her whole story: how the couple met, who said "I love you" first, her comfort show, her drink order, her childhood nickname, her first celebrity crush, her dream honeymoon, and her own prediction about happy tears on the big day. Two select-all questions raise the stakes, one on the things she refuses to leave the house without and one on how she'd genuinely spend a free day, and partial knowledge loses points on both. Three true-or-false questions keep the pace quick between the harder ones.

A few are built to shake up the scoreboard. "Years before the wedding dress, what did the bride's family call her when she was small?" separates childhood friends and family from everyone else in the room. And the proposal question is deliberately the hardest of the twelve: everyone knows the headline, but only the inner circle knows where the ring was hiding.

How it plays out at the shower

Picture the room, mimosa in one hand, phone in the other. You set a QR code on a card near the favors or drop the link in the group chat, and guests start whenever they're ready. Each answer gets marked right or wrong on the spot, with a short explanation that usually starts an argument across the table. Question order is shuffled for every guest, so leaning toward a neighbor's screen doesn't help. There's no timer, so the bride's grandmother plays in peace, and skipping is switched off, so nobody dodges the hard ones.

Guests who second-guess themselves can step back to an earlier question, and a progress bar shows how much is left. As scores come in, the leaderboard updates live, and the final ranking settles in writing who knows the bride best. Retakes stay open, which is handy for the cousin whose first attempt got interrupted by cake.

Make it hers before anyone plays

Everything in the template is editable. Rewrite questions, reorder them, cut the ones that don't fit her, or add your own; a question about her dog will outperform anything a stranger could write. Point values and the 60-point pass mark are adjustable too, and you can restyle the whole quiz in the shower's colors and add a photo or monogram so it feels like part of the event, not a website somebody found.

One link covers the whole guest list

Share the quiz by link, QR code, or a quick social post in the bridal party's chat. If the couple has a wedding website, the embed snippet drops the quiz straight onto the page, and a site running WordPress can use the shortcode from the Uplup plugin instead. Afterward, the response dashboard lists every score, and a per-question view reveals which one stumped the room, reliably the proposal details.
