Somebody at every anniversary dinner claims they know the couple best. This quiz settles it with a score. It's made for couples on a date night, for anniversary parties, and for showers where guests want a game that's actually about the two people being celebrated. One partner locks in the real answers ahead of time, everyone else guesses, and the leaderboard does the bragging.

You set the truth first, then everyone else gets tested

The mechanic is simple, and it's the whole point: all 12 questions arrive as placeholders, each with a sample answer already marked correct and an instruction baked into the question text. The opener literally says "Organizer: swap these options for your real ones before you send this." So before anything goes out, you or your partner walks through the quiz, replaces the sample options with honest answers, and only then shares it.

Every question is worth 10 points, 120 in total, with 60 set as the passing line. Anyone who clears half can claim they know you. Anyone who tops the leaderboard has earned dinner.

Comfort food, chore grudges, and the bedtime that never happens

As written, the set walks a deliberate arc. It opens gently with a warm-up about go-to comfort food after a rough day, then a true or false on whether you're pleasant before 9 a.m. From there it moves into territory only close people know: the chore you secretly hate, the first date detail that keeps getting retold, and which things reliably make you laugh.

The back half turns sentimental without getting sappy. There's the free Sunday question, the dream trip you keep postponing, whether you'd rather host or be hosted, and the small gestures that land bigger than grand ones. A guaranteed crowd favorite: "Fifteen minutes after I announce 'I am going to bed,' what am I most likely doing?" The set ends with what you'd rescue in a hurry and your idea of a perfect anniversary, which quietly hands your partner next year's plan in writing.

Two of the questions are select-all-that-apply, so guessing gets harder exactly where knowing someone matters most.

How it plays at a shower

Picture a couples shower. The host sends the quiz to one half of the couple a week early, and they replace every placeholder with the truth. At the party, a QR code on the table gets every guest in within seconds. Skipping is off, so nobody dodges the hard ones, and each answer reveals instantly with a short explanation. That's where the laughs live: the explanations are written to be read out loud. When the last guest finishes, the leaderboard names a winner, and the couple walks away with a scoreboard of who really pays attention.

Making it unmistakably yours

Every placeholder is fair game. Rewrite the questions, change the options, adjust point values, cut anything that doesn't fit the two of you, and add what does. The 60-point pass mark is editable too, so passing can be generous for a big party or brutal for a competitive family. Add a logo and pick colors that match the invitations if it's part of a wedding weekend.

A few settings come tuned for live play. Question order shuffles by default, which keeps neighbors from copying, though you can switch it off if you want the easy-to-sentimental arc preserved. There's no timer, so nobody gets rushed through a question about your relationship. Takers can step back to an earlier question if they change their mind, and a progress indicator shows how much is left. Retakes come switched on out of the box, which matters, because someone will demand a second attempt the moment they see their score.

One link, a QR code, or a spot on the wedding site

When the answers are in, sharing takes a minute. Send the link in the group chat, post it to social, print a QR code for the party tables, or embed the quiz on a wedding or anniversary page. If that page runs on WordPress, the Uplup plugin gives you a shortcode to paste wherever the quiz should appear. Everything here, from editing to the leaderboard, sits on Uplup's free plan.

Afterward, response analytics show every score and how each question was answered, so you'll know exactly which one stumped the whole room. The estimate is 4 to 6 minutes per taker, short enough that it never stalls a party and long enough to crown a legitimate winner.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the customize-first setup work?
Every one of the 12 questions ships as a placeholder with a sample answer marked correct and an instruction written into the question itself, such as "Organizer: set this to the honest truth." You open the template, swap the sample options and correct answers for your real ones, then share the finished quiz. Nothing goes out until the answers are actually yours.
Does the couples quiz cost anything?
No. It sits on Uplup's free plan, including editing, sharing by link or QR code, the leaderboard, and response analytics.
How is the quiz scored?
Each of the 12 questions is worth 10 points for a 120-point maximum, and the pass mark is set at 60. Both the point values and the passing line are editable, so you can make winning easy for a big shower crowd or punishing for a competitive family.
Can guests take it more than once?
Yes. Retakes come enabled in this template's settings, so a low scorer can demand a rematch on the spot. Turn them off in the editor if you want everyone's first attempt to stand as the official record.
Can I add my own questions or delete ones that don't fit us?
Yes. The 12 placeholders are a starting point, not a limit. Rewrite any question, change its options, add new ones about your own running jokes, or remove anything that doesn't sound like the two of you.
How long does it take to play?
The template's estimate is 4 to 6 minutes per person. There's no timer, and players can step back to an earlier question before finishing, so nobody gets rushed through an answer about your relationship.
