Somebody at the party swears the 1985 Bears went undefeated. Someone else is positive Jerry Rice owns five rings. Phones come out, the room splits into rival search results, and the argument just rolls on into halftime unresolved. Both claims happen to be wrong, and this quiz exists to prove that sort of thing with a score instead of volume.

It is a 14 question NFL trivia challenge that runs from casual-fan basics to genuine trivia-night deep cuts, rated medium difficulty and built to finish in about 5 to 8 minutes.

From Super Bowl I to the midnight Mayflower vans

The set warms up on friendly ground: how many players a side puts on the field, and "Which team won the very first Super Bowl, played in January 1967?" From there it drifts into the rulebook's strange corners, like how far an onside kick has to travel and the free kick a team owes after conceding a safety.

The back half is where the deep cuts live. Franchise lore covers the Packers' nonprofit fan ownership, the Colts sneaking out of Baltimore in Mayflower vans in 1984, and the settlement that kept the Browns' name and colors in Cleveland. Draft history gets its due too, from the real meaning of Mr. Irrelevant to Jay Berwanger, the first ever number one pick, who never played a professional down. Twelve questions are single choice and two are select-all items, including one asking which franchises predate the league itself.

Every answer arrives with a written explanation, so a wrong guess still teaches something. Miss the Super Bowl 50 question and you learn why the league benched its Roman numerals for exactly one year.

Office pools, bar rounds, and the Thanksgiving rematch

Super Bowl week at the office is the obvious moment: run this alongside the squares pool so somebody gets crowned for actual knowledge, not a lucky grid. Bar and brewery hosts use it as a ready-made sports round on trivia night. And in families with divided loyalties, it is a cleaner way to settle the annual argument than shouting over the pregame show.

None of those groups wants to write 14 questions and fact-check 14 explanations first. That part is already done.

Ten points a question, and a leaderboard that keeps receipts

Scoring is straight points: every question pays 10, the full board is 140, and the pass mark sits at 65. Feedback is instant. Right or wrong appears as soon as an answer locks in, with the explanation underneath, so the room learns the Ravens' official history in real time.

The built-in leaderboard ranks every finisher, which is the entire point when bragging rights are the prize. Retakes come switched on, and the question order shuffles for each taker, so a second attempt is a real test rather than sequence memorization. Skipping is off, meaning nobody quietly dodges the hard ones, though takers can step back to reconsider an earlier answer while a progress bar tracks how deep into the 14 they are.

Make it about your team

Open the template in the builder and everything is editable. Swap a deep cut for a question about your own franchise's cursed draft picks, raise the pass mark for a harder room, or trim the set for a faster bar round. Shuffling and retakes are toggles, so you can lock things down to one clean attempt per person if a prize is involved.

Branding is adjustable too. Skin the quiz in your team's colors and add a logo, so a Packers themed edition looks nothing like a Cowboys one.

Getting it in front of the group before kickoff

Publishing gives you a direct link for the group chat, a QR code for the bar table or the break room poster, and social sharing for a public callout. The quiz also embeds on any website with a copy-paste snippet, and if that site runs WordPress, the Uplup plugin's shortcode places it inside any post or page.

Flip on the lead capture step if you want contact details before results, which is how a bar turns trivia night into a mailing list. Afterward, the analytics list every finisher's score plus how each individual question performed, so you will know exactly which one wrecked the room. Export everything to CSV, or push responses onward through webhooks and Zapier.

The whole template lives on Uplup's free plan, so the only thing at stake is pride.

Who Is This Template For?

This template works for a wide range of goals and industries.

Office Super Bowl week

Run it alongside the squares pool so the office crowns someone for actual football knowledge, not a lucky grid. One link in the team chat gets everyone in, and the leaderboard names the winner.

Bar trivia night sports round

Hosts get a ready-made NFL round with explanations already written. A QR code on each table puts the whole room in, and the lead capture step can grow the trivia night mailing list.

Family game-day rivalries

Divided households can settle the annual argument before kickoff. The 140 point scoreboard does the arbitration, and the written explanations end the debates a search engine never could.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many questions does the NFL trivia quiz have?
It has 14 questions: 12 single choice and 2 select-all. They span Super Bowl history, unusual rules, franchise lore, and the draft, and a full run takes roughly 5 to 8 minutes.
Is this NFL quiz free?
Yes. The template sits on Uplup's free plan, which covers editing it, sharing it by link, QR code, or embed, and reviewing the results.
Can people take the quiz more than once?
Yes. Repeat attempts come enabled in this template's settings, and because the question order reshuffles on every run, a second try is a genuine test rather than recall. Turn the toggle off if you want a single-attempt contest.
Can I swap in questions about my own team?
Yes. Open it in the builder to rewrite any of the 14 questions, add fresh ones about your franchise's history, adjust point values or the pass mark, and recolor the whole quiz to match your team.
Do takers see the correct answers?
Yes. Feedback appears the moment an answer is submitted, along with a short explanation of the right choice, like why the Ravens officially count as a 1996 expansion team. Final scores then land on the built-in leaderboard.
