How to use the Allowlist & Blocklist
Uplup includes a brand-level Allowlist & Blocklist page where you can add specific email addresses that should always be allowed to participate in your campaigns, or always be prevented from participating. The lists are account-wide and apply to every form, quiz, and other campaign type under the active brand.
Common reasons to use it:
- A legitimate respondent was flagged by spam protection — add them to the Allowlist so future submissions bypass the filter.
- You want to prevent a specific person (for example, a repeat abuser or competitor) from submitting any of your campaigns — add them to the Blocklist.
How to manage the lists
Step 1. Open the Allowlist & Blocklist page for the active brand at /brand/<brandId>/whitelist-block-users. The page header reads Allowlist & Blocklist with the subtitle “Control who can participate in your campaigns”.

Step 2. You’ll see two side-by-side panels — Allowlist on the left and Blocklist on the right. Each panel has a large textarea where you enter one email address per line. A live counter in the bottom-right of each textarea shows how many addresses are currently in the list.

Step 3. After editing the Allowlist, click Save Allowlist. After editing the Blocklist, click Save Blocklist. Each list is saved independently.
How the rules interact
- Allowlist takes priority: if the Allowlist contains any addresses, only those addresses can participate in campaigns under this brand.
- Blocklist always applies: blocked addresses are prevented from participating even if they also appear on the Allowlist.
- Changes take effect immediately for new campaign entries.
- Existing entries are not affected by changes to these lists.
- Both lists apply account-wide to every campaign under the brand — there is no per-form Allowlist or Blocklist override.
Tip: If you need to block visitors by country, U.S. state, or VPN/proxy connection rather than by email, open any form or quiz, expand the Security accordion in the left sidebar of the Create tab, and use Country Restrictions, U.S. State Restrictions, or the Spam Protection level (Off / On / Strict) with the Allow VPN connections toggle. Country and U.S. State Restrictions are available on the Business plan.
