Red Rocks Amphitheatre is world renowned. Artists dream of playing at the legendary outdoor venue just outside Denver, CO, making each summer's line-up better than the year before.
By day, Red Rocks boasts amazing hiking and biking trails open to the public. By night, lights and music dance off the Rocks, creating a once in a lifetime experience. Surrounded by firery red rock formations, The Amphitheatre is shaped into the Earth. Two monoliths, Creation Rock and Ship Rock, tower over the venue on either side soaring nearly 300 feet, creating perfect acoustics and breath-taking views, unlike any other music venue.
Beneath the venue is a small museum featuring movies, posters, and information about past performances. A restaurant is also on site for those interested in a sit-down dinner before the concert.
If you go to a Red Rocks concert, keep your eye out for Scramble Campbell. He's an amazing artist, who paints during the concert. He creates a masterpiece inspired by the music right before your eyes. Every year, usually in June or July, a Scramble Campbell exhibit is also displayed in the museum.
As for the parking lot scene... If you're looking for the best tailgating spot, make your way to the Lower South lots using entrances two or three. If you prefer something a little more tame, and closer, head to the Upper lots using entrance one.
