Ace of Spades is located in downtown Sarcramento in a rather nice and safe community. The overall feel of the street is lively and if you have to wait in line for a great concert it's important to feel safe. The security team is well behaved and a charasmatic bunch. They were nice and funny but they still did their job. They don't check ID's all that much unless you are accompanied by a parent. As soon as you walk in they have merch set up and then you go straight into rocking out.
An important suggestion is, just squeez your way onto the platform under the bar because then you're not in a mosh pit right up against the stage and you aren't taking up space for the handicaped. Overall the sofas have the best view (so does the bar upstais) but a lot of parents are at both.
