The House of Blues in Hollywood is a two-storied venue with a large dance floor, large outside smoking area, and 5 bars. The building itself is really interesting to look at as well (make sure you check out the ceiling!) and even though it is located in West Hollywood, it never feels uptight. The acoustics are sick and the stage is large enough for a many-membered band to fit comfortably. The lighting effects are really nice, and customizable. The only downside to this venue is the high price of alcohol - I'm talking $12 for a tall can of Corona.
