Just off the Will Rogers Expressway in Oklahoma City lies a unique establishment that combines three of life's greatest joys: pizza, beer and live music. McSalty's Pizza decided to turn their extra room into a darkly lit, oppressively loud concert hall. It's actually pretty cool.
A majority of the bands that play here are in the hardcore and metal genres, but they'll book any style of band who wants the gig. Locals dominate the concert calendar usually, with some regional and touring acts from time to time. To be honest, there are a lot of beginner/garage bands playing because it's easy to get a gig there, and presumably because it's easier to tell your parents that you're playing a pizza parlour than a dive bar. The sound isn't great for both band and audience, but the vibe is cool. Not to mention, the pizza! It's amazing! McSalty's also serves cheap domestic and import beers as well. It's definitely worth looking into this unique venue.
