J and D's a is a music bar and grill in Wauconda IL. It's kind of a hole in the wall bar. It's a bit of an odd assortment of characters, but it's pretty sweet to just throw back a few with some friends there. On a plus, they have live music during the week / weekend. J and D's tends to have more rock / acoustic bands. Also, don't be surprised if you find a Led Zepplin cover band.
J and D's has a come one come all jam session. It's total rock / blues. So, you can just sit in with people, play by yourself, or bring your own band.

J and D's is a good bar for cheap drinks. But, it's at the cost of LOUD music and a mediocre at best atmosphere. It tends to be more of a towny bar with out the cozy feel. The only nights they have live music I think is Thursday. They're usually a cover band with descent music. Also, I saw open mic there one time. It was just locals getting up and doing their thing. J and D's wouldn't be my first choice for a bar. But, as far as a bang for your buck goes, their doing pretty good.
